Position Title: Mechanical Drafter

The Opportunity for Mechanical Drafter As a Mechanical Drafter, you will play a pivotal role in creating detailed engineering diagrams for mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Your work will ensure precision, reliability, and quality across products, supporting a range of teams and contributing to the development of innovative solutions for global customers.

The Team Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with the Global Product Management Team on the design of permanent handling equipment and work with the Sales Execution team to support order fulfillment. This role involves close interaction with installation contractors, end customers, marketing, sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities for Mechanical Drafter

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment using AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design, layout, and detail components, addressing design challenges effectively.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, and related data to assess factors influencing designs and procedures.
  • Utilize mathematical formulas to compute detailed specifications for machinery.
  • Annotate drawings with instructions and comments for clarity.
  • Modify and revise designs to resolve operating issues or production inefficiencies.
  • Verify material dimensions and assign identifiers for tracking.
  • Create schematics, orthographic, and angle views to illustrate component relationships.
  • Confer with customer representatives to review schematics and resolve installation queries.
  • Generate illustrations for technical manuals to describe the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.

Qualifications for Mechanical Drafter

  • Associate’s degree in drafting, design, or a related technical field; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of related drafting experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
  • Expertise in drafting and design with metal fabrication, material handling equipment, and grain systems.
  • Experience with 3D SolidWorks design and drafting.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and mechanical/technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
